At Bufu Ikan Ko Ryu Dojo we follow a Kyu/Dan ranking system.

The system is divided into two main categories, ranks up to black belt and ranks after black belt. Ranks up to black belt are called Kyu grades and are arranged from the lowest (10th Kyu) to the Highest (1st Kyu). Ranks from black belt forward are called Dan grades and are arranged from the lowest 1st Degree black belt (Shodan) to the highest 15th Degree black belt (Jugodan).
